MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR A clear priority is to create an Association which is welcoming to all our members and visitors and an environment which is safe, secure and comfortable. To achieve this, the Executive Committee has an ambitious but achievable development plan for coming years and I am determined to see this through. Some of you may not have visited the Association or be aware of what is happening behind the scenes. As such, I would like to take this opportunity of outlining some of the key initiatives. Some improvements have been made inside the clubhouse. For example, the kitchen has been extended to cater for an expected increase in the use of the facilities of the Association. Access and improvements to the clubhouse have already begun and will be an ongoing activity. There is a long term plan to improve the senior, junior and mini soccer pitches. These are the lifeline of the Association. The pitches are a vast improvement on the days when kicking the ball also meant redistribution of some of the playing surface. Work will continue over the close season. The Executive Committee will investigate installing Astro Turf to replace the asphalt area currently being used as tennis courts, along with upgrading that area generally. This will enable mini soccer and junior football teams to train at the Association in safety. Naturally, this will also create a facility which can be used for other sports, for example netball, mini cricket etc. Not only will this promote the ethos of Hayden of being an inclusive Association but also generate additional and vital income. Finally, I am keen to ensure the long term future of the Association. This can only be achieved by your continued support and I am open to and would welcome suggestions to progress the Association .
