Hayden Black v Hayden Yellow
Hayden Black played Hayden Yellow under 11s in the first local derby of the season. hayden yellow made a bright start and went 1-0 with a good through ball from midfield which caught our defence napping. the rest of the half was pretty even as both sides made chances. on the stroke of half time some great passing play between jay brown and louis clarke set up the equaliser for joe tisdell.
again in the second half we got caught at the back by some good football from the yellows and went 2-1 down. from here on in we started to play like we know we can and jay brown quickly equalised after a good ball from callum patrick set him on his way. we now took control of the game playing some lovely passing football between our midfield and strikers and took the lead as man of the match joe tisdell chased down his own interception in midfield outpaced two defenders and slammed the ball home. josh smith and jay brown were now in full flight down the wings and quiickly got the ball to joe again
the yellows keeper made a good stop but louis clarke followed in to slot the ball home for number 4. 2 minutes later it was 5 as jay browns cross from the right (he swears it was a shot) looped over the yellows keeper and into the net. almost immediatly we got number 6 as the impressive joe went charging through again and lobbed the ball goalwards. not sure if it was going in or not as it looped over the keeper but the equally impressive louis clarke followed up to poke it into an empty net for his second of the game. joe was then denied a well deserved hatrick as he had a goal ruled out after the yellows linesman spotted a foul which the ref ( and everyone else in the ground ) missed.
all in all despite the scorline it was a pretty even match for the most part and and very enjoyable to watch for all. our season is now up and running and hopefully we can push on from here and have a successful season. well done boys
